She studied arts (major in psychology) at St. Xavier's College and then graduated in clinical psychology at the University of Mumbai. She is married to Ashutosh Rana, also a Bollywood actor. | She released her first film Marathi as a director, called Rita. Adapted from his mother's novel, Shanta Gokhale, Rita Welingkar, Renuka plays the essential role of a friend, guide and philosopher of Rita, the protagonist. Rita had Jackie Shroff, Pallavi Joshi, Suhasini Mulay and Mohan Agashe in the cast. She also starred in a Telugu Money movie, produced by Ram Gopal Varma, which was very successful.Circus was one of the first Indian television series in which she played. She portrayed the amorous interest of the relatively unknown character Shah Rukh Khan. Her role as a resolute woman in another television series, Imtihaan, was widely appreciated. Tags:
