|Sharman Joshi is an Indian film and theater actor. He has worked and directed theatrical productions in English, Hindi, Marathi and Gujarati, but he is best known for his work in Hindi films. He made his acting debut in Godmother. He made his debut as a lead co-actor in the movie Hindi Style; This was followed by supporting roles in blockbuster films such as Rang De Basanti , Golmaal , Life in a ... Metro, 3 idiots, Ferrari Ki Sawaar, Hate Story 3 and 1920 London. He plays a lead role in Bollywood Kaashi's films in Search of Ganga and 3 Storeys.
Joshi belongs to a family of Gujarati actors and performers.His father, Arvind Joshi, is a veteran of the Gujarati Theater,while his aunt Sarita Joshi and his cousins acted in the Marathi and Gujarati Theater. His sister is actress Manasi Joshi Roy and his brother-in-law is actor Rohit Roy.

|Sharman Joshi directed and performed in various plays. He appeared as a deaf character in the Gujarati version of the popular game All the Best, which has made more than 550 shows in three years.
He made his film debut in the 1999 art film, Godmother. This was followed by Style, produced by N Chandra. The style was followed by his sequel Xcuse Meand other comedies such as Shaadi No. 1.
In 2006, he played in Rang De Basanti. Later that year, he starred in the comedy film Golmaal. In 2007, he appeared in Life in a ... Metro, Dhol and Raqeeb. The following year, he saw Shyam in Hello, the film adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's novel One Night Call Center. Joshi starred in Sorry Bhai! in 2008 and one of the three characters from the 2009 movie 3 Idiots, based on Chetan Bhagat's novel Five Point Someone. He also played the role of a cop in the erotic thriller Wajah Tum Ho.
In 2009, he staged a game show at Real T.V. called PokerFace: Dil Sachcha Chehra Jhootha, which was based on a British game show called PokerFace.
He has been honored with the lifetime membership of the International Film and Television Club of the Asian Academy of Film and Television. Sharman refers to being cast during his career and spoke about it during the TEDxYouth OIS TEDx conference in Mumbai in January 2017.
