| Preity Zinta is an Indian actress and entrepreneur. She has appeared in Bollywood Hindi films, as well as Telugu, Punjabi and English films. After graduating with honors in English and criminal psychology, Zinta made her debut in Dil Se .. in 1998, then in Soldier the same year. These performances earned her a Filmfare award for best female achievement, and she was later recognized for her role as a single adolescent mother in Kya Kehna (2000). | In 1997, Zinta met Shekhar Kapur when she accompanied a friend to a hearing and asked her if she would audition too. Seeing her hearing, Kapur insisted she become an actress. Originally, she was supposed to debut on the screen in Kapur's Tara Rum Pum Pum against Hrithik Roshan, but the shoot was canceled. Kapur later recommended her for Dil Se ... Zinta often remembers that when she entered the film industry, her friends teased her that she "would wear saris white and dance in the rain ", thus motivating her to play different roles. In 2007, Zinta performed a British Pakistani woman, Alvira Khan, in her third project with Yash Raj Films, Shah Ali's comedy Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, alongside Abhishek Bachchan, Bobby Deol and Lara Dutta. In 2011 she started her own production company, PZNZ Media. Two years later and after many delays, she starred in her first film under the banner of the romantic comedy Ishkq in Paris, directed by Prem Raj, which she also co-wrote. Indo-French collaboration, the film sees Zinta as a semi-Parisian half-Indian alongside Rhehan Malliek and Isabelle Adjani. Zinta's role required her to learn French and follow a strict diet and physical regime, for which she had hired celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson.In January 2017, Zinta started shooting for Bhaiaji Superhit, Neeraj Pathak's action comedy. She will be seen in front of Sunny Deol as an aggressive woman based in Varanasi.
