| Kapoor made his debut in 1991 at the age of seventeen with the romantic drama Prem Qaidi, in front of debutante Harish Kumar. When released, the film became a moderate box office success and received mixed criticism from critics, as did Kapoor's performance, with Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama calling it "mechanical." The following year, the first five versions of Kapoor - policeman, Jaagruti, Nishchaiy, Sapne Sajan Ke and Deedar - were box-office beaten. Jaagruti and Nishchaiy marked his first two collaborations with Salman Khan, while Deedar marked his first collaboration with Akshay Kumar. She then starred in the action drama Jigar (1992), followed by the romantic drama Anari (1993), both of which emerged as box office hits and among the most profitable films of their respective years. The Heartthrobs: Live in Concert has been successfully presented in the United States and Canada alongside Arjun Rampal, Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor and Aftab Shivdasani. In 2016, Kapoor participated in the Hiru Golden Film Awards in Sri Lanka as a special guest with several other Bollywood actors, including Neil Nitin Mukesh, Sunil Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit.
