| While practicing at the institute, Kapoor was chosen to star in Kaho Naa ... Pyaar Hai (2000) by Rakesh Roshan against his son, Hrithik Roshan.Several days after the shooting, she abandoned the project; Kapoor later explained that she had benefited from not doing the film, since the director's son was better known .During the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, the film focuses on a man who illegally transports civilians on both sides of the border. On December 20, 2016, Kapoor gave birth to her son, Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi, at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. After an absence of two years on the screen, Kapoor starred in Shashanka Ghosh's Veere Di Wedding, a buddy film starring Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania. Initially contacted for the project in 2016, the manufacturers rewrote Kapoor's role in accommodating her pregnancy, but due to the lack of maternity insurance in India, filming was postponed after her delivery. In August 2018, Kapoor will meet Akshay Kumar and Diljit Dosanjh in Good News, a drama about a couple trying to get pregnant. She also committed herself to play the lead role in Karan Johar's directorial project, Takht, a historical drama starring a group consisting of Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor.
