Dayanand Shetty, also known as Daya Shetty, is an Indian model, film and television actor. He plays the role of Chief Inspector Daya in the Indian television series CID (since 1998).

Dayanand Shetty was born on December 11, 1969 in a Tulu-speaking Bunt family in Katapadi Village of Udupi District of Karnataka State, India to Chandra Prakash Shetty and Uma Shetty. He has two sisters (Naina and Sandhya). He did his B.com from Rizvi College, Bandra. He married Smitha Shetty and they have a daughter.

One of the most famous dialogues of the CID is that of ACP Pradyuman who asks him "Daya darwaaza tod do" (meaning "Daya, break the door"). This dialogue becomes so popular that it is even used in the movie Singham Returns, which is one of the most popular scenes in the film.

In CID, Chief Inspector Daya is also critical in finding clues to resolve the case. Although robust, he is also gentle and friendly, and is always the first to support team members and others when they need it most.

One song was recorded for the CID episode (broadcast on January 21, 2012), a lullaby sung by Daya Shetty and her acolytes Shivaji Satam and Aditya Shrivastava. His singing talent has been appreciated in talk shows like Movers and Shakers.
