She made her debut with Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein (2001) and later participated in several blockbuster films, including Dus (2005), Lage Raho Munnabhai (2006), Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. | Mirza has been involved with the Cancer Patients Association and the Spastics Society of India and has worked extensively with the Government of Andhra Pradesh to disseminate HIV awareness, prevention of female feticide, PETA, CRY and more recently the NDTV Greenathon. solutions against pollution and the book "Deke Dheko" by Radio Mirchi (campaign initiated to collect books for disadvantaged children). His other hobbies include writing, reading, painting, pottery, horse riding and drama. She has written several articles for the Hindustan Times and other publications as a guest writer. Mirza and Aamir Khan publicly voiced their support for the Narmada Bachao Andolan, a group protesting against the construction of a dam. This angered the political activists of the Bharatiya Janata party, which ran a protest march against the actress. Dia won the Green Award at IIFA 2012 for raising awareness of environmental issues. She has been appointed ambassador for the Swachh Bharat Swachh Saathi program. As an ambassador, the actress would interact with students from schools and colleges across the country through awareness sessions, community clean-ups and motivational videos.She joined Save The Children India as the first ambassador for artists.
