| Patel's first opportunity to act came in the form of an offer from his father's comrade Rakesh Roshan to play with his son Hrithik Roshan at Kaho Naa ... Pyaar Hai (2000). The offer came immediately after she graduated from high school, but she turned down the project because she wanted to continue her studies in the United States. Subsequently, Kareena Kapoor replaced her, but fortunately Kapoor gave up a few days in the main photograph and Patel had another opportunity to do so at a family lunch.
