| Bhanurekha Ganesan better known by her stage name Rekha, is an Indian actress. Known for her versatility and recognized as one of the best actresses in Indian cinema, Rekha began her career in 1966 as a children's actress in the Rangula Ratnam telugu film. . Despite the success of many of her early films, she was often criticized for her appearance and it was not until the mid-1970s that she was recognized as an actress. She has won three Filmfare Awards, two for best actress and one for best supporting actress, for her respective roles in Khubsoorat (1980), Khoon Bhari Maang (1988) and Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi (1996).
