Ratna Pathak  is an Indian actress and director known for her work in Bollywood theater, television and movies. His many works at the theater include a series of plays in English and Hindi. She became famous when she appeared in the television series Idhar Udhar in the 1980s. However, she is best known for her portrayal of Maya Sarabhai in the television series Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai. She has also performed supporting roles in films including the romantic drama Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na (2008), the action comedy Golmaal 3 (2010), the romantic comedy Ek Mai Aur Ekk Tu (2012) and comedy drama Khoobsurat (2014). Kapoor and Sons (2016), followed by the hugely popular black comedy Lipstick Under My Burkha (2017) for which she was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
