|Raakhee Majumdar is a former Indian actress , who has appeared primarily in Hindi films, as well as in many Bengali films.She is known as Raakhee or Raakhee Gulzar after her marriage to lyricist-director Gulzar. In four decades of his career, Raakhee has won three Filmfare Awards and a National Film Award. At Filmfare, Raakhee has been nominated 16 times (8 for best actress and 8 for best supporting actress), making her the most nominated artist in the female categories, alongside actress Madhuri Dixit.

|In 1967, Raakhee, 20 (also known as "Rakhee"), played her first Bengali film, Badhu Baran, after which she received the lead role in her first Hindi film in 1970, Jeevan Mrityu of Rajshri Productions with Dharmendra. .
In 1971, Rakhee played a dual role against Shashi Kapoor in Sharmilee, and in the same year she also played in Lal Patthar and Paras; the three films were popular and she became one of the leading actresses of Hindi cinema in the 1970s.Rakhee worked with Shashi Kapoor in 10 films, including Sharmelee (1971), Jaanwar Aur Insaan (1972), Kabhi Kabhie (1976), Doosra Aadmi (1977), Trishna (1978), Baseraa (1981), critically acclaimed .
