Pallavi started playing on stage very early. She has appeared in films like Badla and Aadmi Sadak Ka as a child artist. She played a blind child who reformed a notorious gangster in Dada (1979).
In the 1980s and early 1990s, she played in art films such as Rukmavati Ki Haveli, Suraj ka Satvan Ghoda, Trishagni (1988), Vanchit, Bhujangayyana Dashavathara (1991) and Rihaee. She has also played supportive roles as a sister or friend of the heroine in high-budget commercial films, including Saudagar, Panaah, Tehelka and Mujrim. She was named in the category "Best Actress in a Supporting Role" at the Filmfare Awards for her role as a disabled girl in Andha Yudh (1988). She also won a special Jury Prize at the 41st National Film Awards for Woh Chokri (1992). She is also a recipient of the Film Excellence Award at the 7th World Film Festival, Noida.
She hosts a television singing competition Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Marathi L'il Champs on Zee Marathi. She has appeared as Kasturba Gandhi in The Making of the Mahatma by Shyam Benegal (1995).His television appearances include Mr. Yogi, Bharat Ek Khoj, Justajoo, Alpviram, Mriganayani, Talash and Imtihaan and his most famous soap opera Doordarshan was Aarohan, a naval-based youth drama. Justajoo was a weekly soap opera on Zee TV in 2002, also featuring Harsh Chhaya and Arpita Pandey.
