| Malaika was chosen as one of MTV's VJs when MTV India began operations by becoming an interviewer and later co-anchoring the Love Line and Style Check programs with Cyrus Broacha . Malaika then entered the world of modeling, appearing in many commercials, for songs like "Gur Naalo Ishq Mitha" by Bally Sagoo opposite Jas Arora and numbers such as "Chaiyya Chaiyya" in the film ... In 2014, she confirmed that she would make an appearance in the comic-drama action film Farah Khan, Happy New Year. Malaika appeared on the TV show Nach Baliye as one of three judges. The show aired on STAR One in mid-2005. She continued as a judge at Nach Baliye 2, which began airing during the last quarter of 2006. In this broadcast, she played many numbers as an example for competitors. She appeared on the show Zara Nachke Dikha as a judge at Star One.She was a judge on the Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa show in 2010.
