| Dixit made his debut in Rajshri Productions' Abodh in 1984 against Bengali actor Tapas Paul. The film failed, but Dixit received positive reviews from critics. Aakash Barvalia on Gomolo praised her by writing "Madhuri excels in her role as a bride who performs well as a naive villager and does not realize what marriage actually entails." turned out to be another failure for Dixit.
