Kulhari began his career with commercials in the theater and on television. She did a month-long theater workshop in a Hindi theater troupe called Yatri. She then worked on three pieces: Chinta Chod Chintamani with the group Yatri, Shehenshah Of Azeemo with the AK Various productions and a Hindi adaptation of Sakharaam Binder with the Yatri group. Kulhari was the face of many television commercials - Lotus Mutual Funds, TravelGuru, Videocon Air Conditioners, Gorgeous Hamesha Parachute Campaign, ICICI Bank, Kaya Skin Clinic, Tea Taj Mahal (with Indian actor Saif Ali Khan), Everyuth Face Wash, Whirlpool Refrigerators (with Indian actors Ajay Devgn and Kajol), Spice Mobile, Virgin Mobiles (with Indian actor Ranbir Kapoor), Close-up, JK White Cement and Tic Tac. Kulhari was the facial face of the beauty brand Nivea Visage Sparkling Glow for a duration of 2 years.
Kulhari began her acting career with Khichdi: The Movie, released in October 2010. Kulhari was noticed for her second film as an actor in Shaitan , released in June 2011. In 2016, she was seen in Pink (film) with Tapsee Pannu and Amitabh Bacchan for which she was congratulated. The film was both a commercial and critical success. In 2017, she appears in the title role of Indu in the political thriller Indu Sarkar Madhur Bhandarkar. In 2018, she played in blackmail with Irrfan Khan.
