Career:
Rishi Kapoor made his debut in the film of his father Mera Naam Joker in 1970, playing a child. Kapoor had his first role as an adult, in front of Dimple Kapadia in the 1973 film Bobby. In an interview in 2012, he said: "There was a misconception that the film was made to get me started as an actor.
The film was made to pay the debts of Mera Naam Joker. Father wanted to make a teenage love story and he had no money to launch Rajesh Khanna in the movie ". Bobby was one of the biggest hits of the decade in India
Subsequently, only 11 of his 51 solo hero movies were box office successes, and 25 of the 41 multi-hero movies were box office hits. Rishi Kapoor had 51 films as the main lead hero from 1973 to 2000, but 40 of them were ticket flops and only 11 managed to be successful. They were Bobby, Laila Majnu, Rafoo Chakkar, Sargam, Karz, Prem Rog, Nagina, Honeymoon, Chandni, Heena and Bol Radha Bol.
He had 13 lead roles in two-man films at Khel Khel Mein, Kabhi Kabhi, Hum Kisise Kum Naheen, Badalte Rishtey, Aap Ke Deewane, Saagar, Ajooba, Chandni, Deewana, Damini - Lightning, Gurudev, Daraarand Karobaar . Generally in the multi-hero movies that Rishi did in the late '70s and in the' 80s and early '90s, the character and performance of his other co-star were ubiquitous, as in the case of the movies like Naseeb, Katilon Ke Kaatil, Coolie, Duniya, Sitamgar, Zamana and Ghar Parivar.
