|Rishi Kapoor is an Indian actor, director and producer known for his work in Hindi cinema. He received the National Film Award for his first role as an artist in the film Mera Naam Joker by his father Raj Kapoor. Kapoor had his first role as an adult opposite Dimple Kapadia in 1973 with the movie Bobby and received the Best Actor Filmfare in 1974.Subsequently, he played leading roles as a romantic leader in 92 films between 1973 and 2000, including 41 multi-starred films. Only 11 of his 51 solo hero movies have been successful. For his performance in Do Dooni Chaar, he won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor in 2011, and for his role in Kapoor & Sons, he won the Best Supporting Actor Filmfare Award in 2017. He was awarded Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008. He appeared in front of his future wife Neetu Singh in twelve films from 1973 and 1981.
Kapoor was born in Chembur, Mumbai into a Hindu Punjabi family as Rishi Raj Kapoor. He was the second son of actor-director Raj Kapoor and the grandson of actor Prithviraj Kapoor. He studied with his brothers at Campion School in Mumbai and Mayo College in Ajmer. His brothers, Randhir Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor; maternal uncles, Prem Nath and Rajendra Nath; and paternal uncles, Shashi Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor are all actors. He has two sisters, insurance agent Ritu Nanda and Rima Jain.

|Rishi Kapoor made his debut in the film of his father Mera Naam Joker in 1970, playing a child. Kapoor had his first role as an adult, in front of Dimple Kapadia in the 1973 film Bobby. In an interview in 2012, he said: "There was a misconception that the film was made to get me started as an actor.
The film was made to pay the debts of Mera Naam Joker. Father wanted to make a teenage love story and he had no money to launch Rajesh Khanna in the movie ". Bobby was one of the biggest hits of the decade in India
Subsequently, only 11 of his 51 solo hero movies were box office successes, and 25 of the 41 multi-hero movies were box office hits. Rishi Kapoor had 51 films as the main lead hero from 1973 to 2000, but 40 of them were ticket flops and only 11 managed to be successful. They were Bobby, Laila Majnu, Rafoo Chakkar, Sargam, Karz, Prem Rog, Nagina, Honeymoon, Chandni, Heena and Bol Radha Bol.
He had 13 lead roles in two-man films at Khel Khel Mein, Kabhi Kabhi, Hum Kisise Kum Naheen, Badalte Rishtey, Aap Ke Deewane, Saagar, Ajooba, Chandni, Deewana, Damini - Lightning, Gurudev, Daraarand Karobaar . Generally in the multi-hero movies that Rishi did in the late '70s and in the' 80s and early '90s, the character and performance of his other co-star were ubiquitous, as in the case of the movies like Naseeb, Katilon Ke Kaatil, Coolie, Duniya, Sitamgar, Zamana and Ghar Parivar.
In 1999, he directed Aa Ab Laut Chalen, starring Rajesh Khanna, Aishwarya Rai and Akshaye Khanna in lead roles. His latest film as a romantic chef has been delayed Karobaar: The Business of Love. Rishi Kapoor played in Heena, directed by his brother Randhir Kapoor and his father, Raj Kapoor, and in Prem Granth, a film produced by the three Kapoor brothers and directed by Rajiv Kapoor.
He moved to supporting roles in the 2000s. He has since appeared in such films as Yeh Hai Jalwa, Hum Tum, Fanaa, Namastey London, Love Aaj Kal and Patiala House. He also appeared in British films Do not Stop Dreaming and Sambar Salsa.He ended up on the screen with Neetu Singh in the movie Do Dooni Chaar.
He also played in the movie Chintu Ji in which he played himself. In 2012, he appeared in a villainous role in Agneepath and in the multi-starred Housefull 2 where he appeared with his brother Randhir Kapoor for the first time after Khazana in the mid-1980s.
