Career:
Rawal debuts with the 1985 film Arjun in a supporting role. It was the 1986 blockbuster Naam who established him as an actor with a lot of talent. He then appeared in more than 100 films throughout the 1980s and 1990s, mainly as the main villain, such as Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, Kabzaa, King Oncle, Ram Lakhan, Daud, Baazi and many others.
Paresh Rawal was seen as a character actor by both the public and the critics until the 2000 Bollywood cult film, Hera Pheri, after which he starred in many mainstream Hindu films as lead or main protagonist.
Rawal has interpreted Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, the rude and generous Marathi owner, in the film Hera Pheri, who plays Rajuand Shyam as paying guests in his house. Rawal's game was one of the main reasons for the film's major national success.For his performance, he won the Filmfare Best Comedian Award. He returned to his role as Baburao in the sequel to Phir Hera Pheri , which was also successful.
In 2002, Rawal became one of the three blind bank robbers of the successful movie Aankhen, with Amitabh Bachchan, Aditya Pancholi, Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal and Sushmita Sen.

In 2012, Paresh Rawal starred in the super-OMG - Oh My God! Good friend Akshay Kumar has been seen to support him, and both have earned rave reviews for their roles.He also had a very successful acting career in Gujarati plays, the last tube being Dear Father.For television, he produced several Hindi films, including Teen Bahuraaniyaan by Zee TV, Aisi Kyunn Hoon by Sahara One and Laagi Tujhse Lagan by Colors.One of his upcoming projects is a Narendra Modi biopic. Paresh Rawal will produce the film, which will be his second production after Oh My God. |
