| Karan Patel is a Gujarati born in Calcutta on November 23, 1983. His father is Rashesh Patel. He was educated at Utpal Shanghvi School in the suburb of Juhu in Mumbai and graduated from Mithibai College, Mumbai. He attended the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute and the London University of the Arts. He also attended Shiamak Davar's dance classes. Patel played in the STAR Plus Kasturi series, where he played Robbie Sabarwal, his first lead role. Previously, he played a number of roles in Balaji Telefilms. His first role was at Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii where he played Vigyat. He also worked at Kasautii Zindagii Kay and Kasamh Se. In 2008, he started as a host by anchoring a new show Kaho Na Yaar Hai. He is currently working at Yeh Hai Mohabbatein as Raman Kumar Bhalla. This role has earned her numerous awards such as, ZEE Gold Award for Best Actor (Popular) Three Years in a Row (2014-16), Indian Television Academy Award for Best Romantic Actor (Male) in 2015, Indian Telly Award for Best Actor in a lead role, STAR Parivaar Awards for Best Jodi Three Years in a Row with Divyanka Tripathi (2014-16). |
