His father SL Sharma, who came from Madurai, Tamil Nadu, was a merchant navy captain and his mother, a native of Nattupura (bordering Palakkad), is a classical dancer.
Adah was educated at Auxilium Convent High School in Pali Hill, Bandra, Mumbai.
