Career:
Neil made his debut in Sriram Raghavan's 2007 thriller, Johnny Gaddaar. His portrayal of a scammer received positive criticism from critics and earned him a nomination for the best male film at the 53rd Filmfare Awards. Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama described Neil as a "complete natural": "The young man plays the game with dexterity. There is only one word to describe his performance - superb!" However, despite the cheers from the critics, the film did not succeed well at the box office.
The film was a critical and commercial failure. His performance has received mixed reviews from critics; while Nikhat Kazmi describes it as charming and effortless, Raja Sen of Rediff.com said he "seems to have cleverly chosen another character that does not force him to act far beyond the fish routine. -out of water".
The following year, Neil plays in Vishal Bhardwaj's movie 7 Khoon Maaf, a black comedy based on Ruskin Bond's story "Susanna's Seven Husbands", in which Priyanka Chopra murders her seven husbands in a an incessant quest for love was Chopra's first husband, Major Edwin Rodriques, an arrogant, jealous and possessive army officer who lost a leg in Operation Punjab's Blue Star in 1984.
The film premiered at the 61st Berlin Film Festival He received a mixed response from the critics, but Neil's performance was praised.Nikhat Kazmi wrote that he "excelled as the brute."
In 2012, Neil starred in Abbas-Mustan as part of a cast of Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Bipasha Basu and Bobby Deol. The film was a remake of the 2003 Hollywood thriller, The Italian Job,it was also a commercial failure,receiving mixed to negative reviews from critics. Subhash K Jha said he "brings a threatening nasty tone to the villainy." And according to Sukanya Verma of Rediff.com, Mukesh "makes sinister mistakes for superficial, resulting in a truly false performance."
Neil has finished work on two films - Prerna Wadhwan's romantic drama Ishqeria, which will see him in front of Richa Chadda, and Dussehra of Manish Vatsalya, where Neil will present as specialist of the encounter with Tena Desae. He made his debut in Tamil cinema with Kaththi of AR Murugadoss. He also played in Sooraj R. Barjatya's family drama, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, with Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor.He also made an appearance at Wazir. |
