Life and family
Gautam Rode was born on August 14, 1977 in Delhi, India. Earlier, Rode and his family used to stay in New Delhi, but later they moved to Mumbai. Rode had to deal with many financial crises in Mumbai. Rode's father, Surendra Rode is a retired broker and his mother, Sangeeta Rode is a jewelry designer.
Rode also has an older sister, Rashmi. Rode was educated at the Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan in Delhi. He graduated from Shaheed Bhagat Singh College. He is a fitness enthusiast and a vegetarian.  He currently remains in Kandivali, Mumbai.  He is married to his co-actress Pankhuri Awasthy, with whom he worked in Suryaputra Karn.
Rode made his Indian TV debut with the Jahan Pyaar Mile show on Zee TV. In 2000, he played episodic roles in television shows such as Rishtey, Apna Apna Style and Thriller at age 10. In 2002, he made his debut in Bollywood with the movie Annarth with Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty and Preeti Jhangiani. He played the role of Inspector Sameer Deshmukh in this film. Taran Adarsh of Bollywood entertainment portal Hungama wrote of his performance, "Newcomer Gautam Rode has a good on-screen presence and impresses as an actor. He does very well in stunts." Annarth reported 23.4 million crores ($ 3.5 million) inside the country.
In 2005, he appeared in his second film U, Bomsi & Me alongside Sonal Sehgal and Vivek Madan. He played the role of Sam Mac Patel, a radio jockey who wants to be a writer and a famous. Taran Adarsh wrote of his performance, "Gautam, who made his debut in ANNARTH [with Sanju, Suniel], evolved as an actor. He is excellent in [emotional] sequences when his wife is moving towards him." In 2005, he played his first notable television role of Anish Kotak in Baa Bahu Aur Baby.
In the same year, he also starred in Lucky's lead role and title role in the show, Lucky. He later played supporting and cameo roles in shows that include Princess Dollie Aur Uska Magic Bag (2006), Betiyaan Apni Yaa Paraaya Dhan (2006), Ssshhhh ... Koi Hai (2008), Simplly Sapney ( 2008), Rubi (2008) and Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na (2008). In 2009, Rode appears in the movie Agyaat alongside Nithin and Priyanka Kothari. He played the role of Sharman Kapoor, a man completely obsessed with others, with no concern other than his muscles and the great lady, Aasha. Taran Adarsh wrote of his performance "Gautam Rode decrees the hot-headed superstar with conviction." Agyaat reported 45.4 crores (US $ 6.8 million) inside the country.
