Boman Irani is an Indian film and theater actor, vocal artist and photographer of Iranian origin. He is widely known for his comic and mean roles in Bollywood movies such as Don, Munna Bhai MBBS, 3 Idiots, Happy New Year, PK and Dilwale.

Irani was born on December 2, 1959 in Mumbai. He graduated from St. Mary's School, Mumbai. Irani was dyslexic and had ADHD and had a lisp. He ends up getting rid of his cock. He studied a 2-year server course at Mithibai College in Mumbai. After graduating from Polytechnic, he joined the Taj Mahal Palace & Tower and worked there as a waiter and in room service. He was gradually promoted and eventually worked as a waiter at the rooftop French restaurant, Rendezvous. He worked at Taj Mahal for two years.

Career

Irani began his acting career in the theater and moved to the cinema in 2000. Irani drew attention for his role in the 2003 comedy Munna Bhai MBBS. He then appeared in Lage Raho Munna Bhai for which he received several nominations. Khan who earned him a Filmfare Award and a Star Screen Award for Best Actor in a Nasty Role.

Acting had been a passion for Irani during the days of school and college. He was trained by Acting Coach Hansraj Siddhia from 1981 to 1983 and adopted professional interpretation methods. Irani preferred the British theater, and he quickly developed different accents.

Irani's mentor was Alyque Padamsee - the veteran theater actor best known for his role as Mohammad Ali Jinnah in Gandhi. He was introduced to Padamsee by Shiamak Davar. Irani's first theatrical appearance was at Roshni where he performed at the Versova Regional Theater.

He followed this with series like Family Ties and Mahatma vs. Gandhi, playing Gandhi after the role was rejected by Darshan Jariwala. His most illustrious game to date was I'm not Bajirao who ran for 10 years.Irani started in a number of commercials such as the Fanta, Ceat and Krackjack cookies. His modest but significant role in Darna Mana Hai earned him praise.

The film did not go very well, but it was one of the most memorized segments of the film with Saif Ali Khan. With Munna Bhai M.B.S., Irani became popular. His role as J. Asthana earned him a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Actor. His role as a comic and minor antagonist in 3 Idiots is also known. Irani has appeared in many comic roles , supporting roles , and negative roles . He played in his first film Telugu Attharintiki Daaredhi as Pawan Kalyan's grandfather.

Irani hosted the IIFA Awards with actor Ritesh Deshmukh in 2008 in Bangkok, in 2009 in Macao, in 2010 in Colombo and in 2011 in Toronto.
