Atif Aslam  is a Pakistani singer-songwriter. His first film was the social drama 2011 Bol. He has recorded many songs as headliner  and is known for his vocal belt technique.He sings mainly in Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi, but also sang in Bengali.

Aslam was born into a Punjabi Muslim family in Wazirabad, Punjab, Pakistan. He began hiskindergarten studies at Kimberley Hall School in Lahore. In 1991, he moved to Rawalpindi where he continued his education at Cambridge St. Paul's School, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi. In 1995, Aslam returned to Lahore where he continued his studies at the Divisional Public School. He attended PICS to do his Bachelor of Computer Science (BCs).Aslam began singing in public during his days at PICS, where he met the guitarist and young composer, Goher Mumtaz. After playing in college and in various restaurants, they eventually formed a group called 'Jal' - an Urdu / Hindi word meaning 'water'. Working together, they recorded the song "Aadat" with the help of Salman Albert, among other established and accomplished Pakistani musicians, and the clip of "Aadat" was shot in a warehouse in Karachi. In just a few weeks, "Aadat" became popular on a host of promotional Pakistani music web sites and became viral online, making Aslam a last name. Based on the popularity of this song, Jal started his tour of Pakistan.

On July 17, 2004, Aslam released its first album, Jal Pari, which was an immediate success. Several songs from his first album, such as: "Bheegi Yaadein", "Ehsaas", "Mahi Ve", "Ankhon Sey" and the title song "Jal Pari" have become major hits and have been recorded in the subcontinent.

Aslam then made his first solo show in New Jersey in the 2008 Summer Beats at Sovereign Bank Arena, which also featured Kailash Kher, Richa Sharma and Amanat Ali. After a sell-out concert in New Jersey, Aslam returned with his band and special guests to the Queens Colden Center in New York on July 2, 2010.

Two years later, Aslam returned to the United States. In collaboration with singer Shreya Ghoshal, their March 2010 tour originally announced 10 shows in the United States and Canada. However, the response inspired the organizers to put shows in six other cities.unity between India and Pakistan. Aslam performed for four hours. This was followed by shows in Manchester and Glasgow.

This was followed by his first concert in Bangkok at the Centara Convention Center on October 6, 2012.Aslam then returned to ten major Pakistani cities during his Jazz Jazba Generation Tour.On November 2, he presented his first public concert in Malaysia.

In December 2012, Aslam was named one of the best in Dubai in 2012 alongside Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias, Il Divo, Gotye, Evanescence and Swedish House Mafia.Aslam is also the first man in Asia, and the second artist after Bryan Adams, to be allowed to perform inside Dashrath Rangasla National Stadium in Kathmandu, Nepal. Aslam is back in Dubai for several concerts in 2013 at the famous Atlantis station.

In April 2013, Aslam performed for the first time at the Birmingham LG Arena, after which he became the first Asian artist to perform twice at the O2 Arena in London. Bollywood stars Shaan, Malaika Arora Khan and Bipasha Basu were also in concert at the O2.

In November 2014, Aslam performed in front of the Leisure Valley grounds in Gurgaon, alongside thousands of Arijit Singh .In August 2015, Aslam performed at the O2 Arena in London for the third time.

Four songs from Aslam's second album, Doorie, were featured in two films. Two of them; "Yakeen" and "Ehsaas", and a single "Aadat" from her debut album Jal Pari, in Ramin Bahrani's internationally acclaimed 2005 film Man Push Cart, was hailed by critics. Two other songs, "Doorie" and "Maula", were selected in 2010 for the soundtrack of Spanish Beauty, the Hindi version of the Mexican film 2005 La mujer de mi hermano directed by Ricardo de Montreuil.

Aslam made his acting debut in Pakistan's 2011 film Bol. He has also made special appearances in many movie songs.

Aslam appeared as captain of the Pakistan team in a talented show called Sur Kshetra that was shot and broadcast from Dubai, where Indian and Pakistani competitors clashed. At the end of the show, Nabeel Shaukat Ali of the Aslam team won the contest.

On April 19, 2017, he hosted the 16th Lux Style Awards Ceremony, and it was the first time he was seen hosting the Lux Style Awards ceremony. With Meesha Shafi, Fawad Khan and Shahi Hasan, he was also a member of the jury of a Pepsi Battle of the Bands national talent competition; PepsiCo Pakistan from July to September 2017.

  • He was also the part of U-19 Pakistani Cricket Team as a pace bowler.

  • His debut film Bol was critically acclaimed by everyone and became one of the highest grossing Pakistani films at that time.

  • His first real concert was held at McDonald’s, where he earned an amount of 500 rupees (PKR).

  •  He is a recipient of numerous Lux Style Awards, and he also received Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in 2008, the fourth highest decoration given to civilians in Pakistan.

  • He is the youngest recipient of Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Star of Excellence), the 4th highest decoration given to any civilian in Pakistan.

  • He has mentioned in multiple interviews that he had recorded the song with his pocket money at the age of 17. The band released the song on the internet in 2003, which then went on to become a youth anthem.
