|Koel Mallick was born on April 28, 1982 in Calcutta, West Bengal, India. Koel Mallick is the daughter of popular actor Bengali Ranjit Mallick and Deepa Mallick. Koel studied BSc (Honors) in Psychology at Gokhale Memorial Girls' College, an affiliated college at the University of Calcutta.
Koel is married Film producer Nispal Singh (Rane). Before getting married, they were around 7 years old.
Koel was born in Calcutta to Ranjit Mallick and Deepa Mallick, actresses of Bengali cinema, Mallick Bari, Bhowanipore (Kalkata), the Mallick family, closely associated with the powerful families Barat and Gupta, known for its Durga Puja.
Koel was educated at the Modern High School for Girls and earned an honors degree in psychology from the Gokhale Memorial Girls' College, a college affiliated with the University of Calcutta.
Mallick made his television debut with his talk show Katha O Kahini. The show continued to Star Jalsha channel. In 2013, Koel is back on television as a renowned judge in the Bengali version of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa with the famous Bollywood choreographer, Remo D'Souza. The series was broadcast on ETV Bangla.
Mallick also appeared on the popular soap opera Bojhena Se Bojhena which is also airing on STAR Jalsha. Apart from that, she was Maa Durga at Mahalaya, a show that aired on STAR Jalsha in the morning of Mahalaya in 2011.
Mallick's first film was at Nater Guru - opposite Jeet. Nater Guru was a "box office success". The film, released in 2003, marked Mallick's entry into Tollywood. She also won her first ever Best Female Actor of the 4th Tele Cine Awards 2004 for Nater Guru. Nater Guru, who has Jeet in the male role, sees Mallick play the role of a 23-year-old girl named Monica. Since the release of Nater Guru, the pair has often worked together, appearing in eleven films.
In 2004, she played in Debipaksha, Shudhu Tumi, Badsha King and Bandhan. While the first two proved mediocre [clarification needed] at the box office, Bandhan was a huge hit in Bengal and was a blockbuster box office. It was also the most profitable Bengali movie of 2004.
In 2005, Mallick appeared in Shubhodrishti, Manik, Yuddho and Chore Chore Mastuto Bhai. She appeared in Yuddho opposed to actors Mithun Chakraborty and Debashree Roy. The film recorded an initial collection of 12 million pounds (12 million) in its first week. In 2006, she took on a more senior role at MLA Fatakeshto, where she was a journalist.
