Rana was an entrepreneur and Visual Effects Coordinator before turning actor. He won the State Prize in Nandi Special Effects category for Sainikudu movie.The lanky young made her Telugu debut with the critically acclaimed chef of Sekhar Kammula in which he plays the role of Chief Minster who is on a mission to bring change by eliminating corruption at the roots.
He made Bollywood debut with Dum Maro Dum and later went on to act in several films as Department.Despite baby and be a hero and come from a strong film community, he did not hesitate to seize the role of antagonist SS Rajamouli epic drama Baahubali, the role played by holders Prabhas. The film has stormed the box office by emerging as one of the biggest hits of Indian cinema and the role of Rana "Bhallala Deva" earned him wide applause in all Indian languages. Rana was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, to film producer Telugu Daggubati Suresh Babu. He studied in Hyderabad at Hyderabad Public School. His paternal father was D. Ramanaidu, a famous film producer who was awarded the third highest civilian prize in the Republic of India, Padma Bhushan, in recognition of his contribution to the Telugu cinema. His paternal uncle is Venkatesh and his cousin Naga Chaitanya are also actors in the film industry.
Rana's first film was "Leader" in Telugu, directed by Shekhar Kammula, which is one of his greatest hits. Rana debuted in Bollywood with the film Dum Maaro Dum which aired on 22 April 2011. The Times of India called it "frustrating beginnings". He was elected "The Most Promising Newcomer of 2011" in the Times Of India poll. He was ranked number 20 on the Times of India's Most Desirable Men for 2011. In 2012, he was elected 10th most desirable man in India, in the poll conducted by The Times of India.
He played a professional killer in the film Nenu Naa Rakshasi under the direction of Puri Jagannath, which was a box office bomb. Her first release in 2012 was Naa Ishtam which was followed by her second Hindi film department. He then starred in Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum directed by Krish who became a box office hit. He made his debut in Tamil by Aarambam of Ajith Kumar. In 2013, he obtained two major budget projects, Rudhramadevi of Gunasekhar and Baahubali of S. S. Rajamouli in which he is the main antagonist. Rana played a role in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani of Ayan Mukerji. Baahubali was broadcast worldwide in July 2015 and has enjoyed tremendous success around the world. Rana played "Bhallaladeva", Baahubali's cousin, who had negative nuances and received an unprecedented appreciation of criticism. Baubali-2 becomes the second winning film of India.
He played the role of "Jai Singh Rathore" in the movie Baby.Baby is an action-spy suspense film. His next film is Nene Raju Nene Mantri, directed by Teja. Kajal Agarwal and Catherine Tresa are the two female tracks of the film.
