Akhil Akkineni is a Telugu film actor from the Akkineni family. He was born on 8 April 1994 in San Jose, California, to actors Nagarjuna and Amala Akkineni. He is the grandson of legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR). He first appeared on screen as a baby in Sisindri (1995). After finishing his studies, he returned in a cameo in the family film Manam (2014) and took the lead in Akhil (2015). His first clear commercial success as a hero came with the romantic comedy Most Eligible Bachelor (2021). In 2025 he married artist and entrepreneur Zainab Ravdjee. His 2026 release is Lenin. |

Akhil played the title role in Sisindri as a one-year-old and then stayed away from films to study. He played celebrity cricket, including for Telugu Warriors in the Celebrity Cricket League. Manam (2014) brought three generations of the Akkineni family together; his cameo was widely noticed. His adult debut Akhil (2015), directed by V. V. Vinayak, earned him a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut – Telugu. Hello (2017) and Mr. Majnu (2019) followed. Most Eligible Bachelor (2021), opposite Pooja Hegde, became his first major hit as a lead. Agent (2023) did not work at the box office. In 2026 he appeared in Lenin, directed by Murali Kishore Abburu.
