She is an Indian malayalam film actress who has predominantly appears in Tamil and Malayalam films. She made her debut in the Malayalam film Nokketha Doorathu Kannum Nattu in the year 1984. She lived in the United States with her husband and daughters,after her marriage. She came back to India in  the year 2008 and currently she resides in Mumbai with her family. She claims she was also considered for the role Revathi, in Mouna Ragam, an 1986 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film written and directed by Mani Ratnam, and produced by G. Venkateswaran, but declined due to prior commitments.
