Kavitha Ranjini, known as Urvashi Stage, is an Indian actress and producer.
Kavitha Ranjini was a leading actress from 1983 to 1999. She wrote the films Ulsavamelam and Pidakkozhi Koovunna Noottandu, the latter was also produced by her. She won the National Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Achuvinte Amma (2005). She has won the Kerala State Film Award for best actress five times, which includes three consecutive wins from 1989 to 1991.

Private life

Urvashi was born on 25 January 1969 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, by the actor Chavara V. P. Nair and Vijayalakshmi. His older sisters are actresses Kalaranjini and Kalpana. His two brothers, Kamal Roy and Late Prince had also starred in a few Malayalam films. Prince (Nandu of Layanam renamed) committed suicide at the age of 17. She was educated at Fort Girl High School, Thiruvananthapuram until the fourth grade and later at Kodambakkam High School until the ninth grade when the family moved to Chennai. . She could not continue her studies since she was busy with her film career by then [6]. First Urvasi was acting in three films, Bhagyaraj saw the race and reserved it for Munthanai Mudichi. Urvashi married actor Manoj K Jayan on October 11, 2000. They have a daughter Tejalakshmi born in 2001. After divorcing her first husband Manoj K Jayan in 2008, Urvasi married the Sivaprasad builder based in Chennai in November 2013. The couple had a boy in August. 2014, named Ishaan Prajapathi.

 Career

She has appeared in about 500 films in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. She began her acting career as a child artist, at the age of 8, in a Malayalam movie, Vidarunna Mottukal released in 1977, her sister Kalpana also made her debut in the same film. She then played in Kathirmandapam released in 1979, as Jayabharathi's daughter. She played the role of Srividya dance student in the 1980 film Digvijayam that plays Krishna in the Madhumaasa Nikunjathil sequence where her sister Kalpana plays Radha. [8] She also played as a child artist in Ninaivukal Maraivathillai, a Tamil film, in 1983, but it was never published. Then she played the role of heroine, at the age of 13, with Karthik in the film Thodarum Uravu which finished filming in 1983 but which was published in 1986.
Her first film as a heroine is Munthanai Mudichchu (Tamil, directed by K. Bhagyaraj) in 1983, making her first film. Ethirppukal (Malayalam, 1984) was one of his first films in Malayalam. At the peak of his career, she starred in the film Kazhakam of Mr. P. Sukumaran Nair in 1995, without taking a single penny as compensation. She has been awarded Best Actress for this role.
