Well-known comedian, actor, TV artist Gundu Hanumantha Rao is over. The popular actor blew his last day early around 3:30 on February 19, 2018 at his residence in Nagar, Hyderabad. He was 61 years old. Gundu Hanumantha Rao is survived by his son who completed his MS in the United States and returned to India to care for his sick father. Gundu Hanumantha Rao had been suffering from heart problems for three years. According to relatives, Hanumantha Rao underwent dialysis followed by cardiac surgery last year. His health slowly deteriorated leading to his sudden death.
Hanumantha Rao is very popular for his role in Amrutham TV series which has become one of the most successful TV shows. Hanumantha Rao was a famous stage artist before entering the movies, television series. Gundu Hanumantha Rao made his film debut in 1987 with Jandhyala's iconic film, Aha Na Pellanta, and has not been seen since. He continued to act in such films as Pellaniki Premalekha Priyuraliki Subhalekha in 1992, Rajendradu Gajendradu, Mayaloodu, Jodi No.1, Nenu Seetamahalakshmi, Kedi No.1, Apparao Driving School, Kalyanam, Original, Neramu Siksha, High School, Kothoka Vintha, Colors, Panchamukhi, Sri Sai Sankalpam, Mano Balam, etc. The Telugu Film Fraternity and the Movie Artists Association expressed their sincere condolences for the untimely death of Hanumantha Rao. His latest rites will take place today at Erragadda Burial Ground in SR Nagar.
