The director of Ace, Dasari Narayana Rao garu, who had been admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad, died Tuesday. He was 75 years old. Dasari underwent reconstructive surgery of the esophagus. As a result of surgery, he developed renal failure and died of it despite hemodialysis.
Writer, actor, producer, lyricist, Dasari was a talented. He had directed more than 150 films and recorded in Guinness Book of Records for directing the largest number of films. He even directed some Hindi films. A former minister of state for coal in the mandate of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, he is survived by his sons Arun Kumar and Hari Hara Prabhu and a daughter. His wife and film producer, Dasari Padma, died in October 2011.
Upon hearing the news, Dasari's close associates and family members and many film industry arrived at the hospital to see his body. Actor Mohan Babu, who took care of Dasari in the hospital, has deteriorated.
Dasari was admitted earlier to the hospital in January and after prolonged treatment he was released from the hospital in March. He even celebrated his 75th birthday on May 4 at his residence in the presence of several film personalities.

Rao is known for his work mainly in the Telugu cinema. He holds a record in the Limca Book of Records to direct the maximum number of films. Some of his most famous films are Tandra Paparayudu (1986), Meghasandesam (1983) and Kaante Koothurne Kanu (2000).
