About A.R. Rahman Career

In 1992, Rahman began his own recording studio and music mixing attached to the backyard of his home called Panchathan Record Inn, which was developed in India's most advanced recording studio. He first composed music jingles for commercials, Indian television channels and musical scores in documentaries, among other projects. In 1992, he was approached by director Mani Ratnam to compose the score and soundtrack of the film Tamil of Ratnam, Roja.

Roja's score met with high sales and cheers, in his original and dubbed versions, resulting in a marked shift in the film music at the time, and Rahman followed him with successful scores for Tamil-language films Of the Chennai film industry, including the politically charged Bombay of Ratnam, The City Kadhalan, the Karhuthatham of Bharathiraaja, the saxophonic duo, Indira and the romantic comedies, Mr Romeo and Love Birds, who reported to him.

Many successful results for films including Dil Se and percussive Taal followed. Sufi mysticism would form the basis of Chaiyya Chaiyya's ancient and "Zikr" composition of his score Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero for which he created great orchestral and choral arrangements.
In 2006, Rahman launched his own music label, KM Music. His first release was his score at the film Sillunu Oru Kaadhal. In 2008, he scored the soundtrack of Slumdog Millionaire, for which he won a Golden Globe and two Oscars, thus becoming the first Indian citizen to do so. In the United States, the soundtrack crossed the dance / electronica band and reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200 board. The song "Jai Ho" reached number 2 on Eurochart Hot 100 Singles and # 15 on US Billboard Hot 100.
