Abhishek Bachchan (born February 5, 1976) is an Indian actor, producer and performer known for his works in Bollywood and Bengali cinema. As part of the Bachchan family, he is the son of actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. He made his screen debut with the 2000 war film Refugee.
Bachchan then tried "Gurukant Desai" a character vaguely based on Dhirubhai Ambani in the dramatic film of Mani Ratnam Guru (2007), premiered at the Elgin Theater in Toronto, Canada,  and "All Cinemas of the world". "(World Cinema) section of the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. He then appeared in Godfatheresque by Ram Gopal Varma, Sarkar and Sarkar Raj (2008) premiered at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival, at the Asian Film Festival New York  and the 9th World Premier IIFA Bangkok.

Bachchan then appeared in blockbusters like Dostana (2008), Bol Bachchan (2012), Dhoom 3 (2013), Happy New Year (2014) and Housefull 3 (2016). In addition to three consecutive Filmfare awards for Best Supporting Actress for her critically acclaimed performances in Yuva (2004), Sarkar (2005) and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006), Bachchan won the National Award for Best Hindi Feature Film for the production of the family drama Paa (2009). Since 2007, Bachchan has been married to the former Miss World, and actress Aishwarya Rai and the couple have a daughter.
Bachchan has starred in more than 50 films in leading and supporting roles, but only two films in which the actor has played a leading role have been commercially successful, Bunty Aur Babli (2005) and Guru (2007) (2007).
The actor recently admitted in an interview that the commercially unsuccessful film series in his career has taught him a lot in his life

Abhishek Bachchan was born on 5 February 1976 in Mumbai by veteran actors of Hindi cinema, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan (ee Bhaduri), a full-fledged actress. His grandfather, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, was a renowned poet of the literary movement Nayi Kavita of Hindi literature and professor at Allahabad University of Uttar Pradesh, while his grandmother, Teji Bachchan, was a social activist. The original surname of his family is Srivastava, Bachchan being the pen name used by his grandfather. However, when Amitabh went into the movies, he did so under his father's pseudonym. Bachchan inherited Kayastha from his father's side, Bengali from his mother's side and Punjabi from his grandmother's side who moved from Faisalabad to Mumbai before the partition of India.
Bachchan was dyslexic as a child; this was mentioned by Aamir Khan in the movie Taare Zameen Par.  He attended the Jamnabai Narsee School and the Bombay Scottish School in Mumbai, the modern school, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi, and the Aiglon College in Switzerland.  He then attended Boston University and then moved to Bollywood.

In October 2002, during the celebration of the sixtieth anniversary of his father Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek and actress Karishma Kapoor announced their commitment. Bachchan fell in love with Aishwarya Rai during the filming of Dhoom 2, although both had already appeared together in Dhai Akshar Prem Ke (in which his long-time boyfriend, Salman Khan, made a short cameo) and Kuch Naa Kaho. Bachchan and Rai announced their commitment on January 14, 2007, which was later confirmed by his father, Amitabh Bachchan.The couple married on April 20, 2007, according to the traditional Hindu rituals of the Bunt community, to which Rai belongs. The wedding took place at a private ceremony at the Bachchan Residence, Prateeksha, in Juhu, Mumbai, but was largely covered by the entertainment media. The couple appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show in September 2009,  and has been described as more famous than Brangelina. They have been described as a supercouple in Indian media. Rai gave birth to a baby girl on November 16, 2011.  Her daughter became very popular under the name "Beti B" which was nominated by fans and the media, since the couple took more than four months to name their daughter. The little girl was finally named Aaradhya Bachchan in March 2012.
