Biography

As a partner of the famous duo of actors Goundamani-Senthil, Vadivelu gained importance after his role in Kadhalan (1994), but his first film was En Thangai Kalyani directed by T. Rajendar. The second film was En Rasavin Manasile (1991), directed by Kasthoori Raja. Some of his most famous films are Friends, Bharathi Kannamma, Vetri Kodi Kattu, Winner, Giri, Thalainagaram, Marudhamalai and Chandramukhi. The actor starred in the blockbuster Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi (2006) where he played a dual role as twin brothers. His next feature film was Indiralogathil Na Azhagappan (2008), which was however a great failure. The musical director of this film is Sabesh-Murali

On September 21, 2008, Vadivelu's residence in the Saligramam district of Chennai was bombarded with stones by a band, leaving several windows and furniture broken and damaged. The actor had taken refuge in a room in his house and was safe. Vadivelu suspected Vijayakanth because of a recent case he had filed against Vijayakanth for assault and the final hearing was to take place the next day. He suspected that the attack might have occurred to prevent Vadivelu from attending the hearing [3]. As a result, Vadivelu filed another complaint against Vijayakanth for attempted murder. He later mentioned his interest in competing against Vijayakanth in the upcoming elections to the assembly and "giving him a lesson". In response, actor Vijayakanth told a news conference on September 22 that Vadivelu's allegations were based on hearsay

In 2010, Vadivelu held a press conference, accusing his colleague and actor Singamuthu of forgery and financial fraud. Vadivelu, who was previously friend with Singamuthu, bought land from him, but later he came to learn that the documents were void. This led the former to bring an action against the latter.

At the legislative assembly in Tamil Nadu in April 2011, Vadivelu campaigned vehemently for the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and his alliance. During his public speeches, he mainly condemned the politician and actor Vijayakanth, whose party Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK), allied to the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam opposition party (AIADMK), led by Jayalalithaa. His allegations of Vijayakanth have included him as a "drunk". In a campaign speech in Tiruvarur, Vadivelu said that "his only goal is to sweep the entire Vijayakanth team and carry out a vigorous campaign for the victory of DMK." Vadivelu was criticized as being biased, supporting only one victory led by DMK for his personal gains and never mentioning anything against the official opposition, AIADMK, or his leader.  In a turn, the election was ultimately successful for the AIADMK alliance, while Vijayakanth was victorious by a significant margin in his own constituency. Vadivelu later confessed to defeat and warned that he hoped to see Vijayakanth fulfill his role as an elected politician.
