Vijaya Thesingu Rajendar (born 03 October 1955), better known as T. Rajendar or T.R., is an Indian actor, director, composer, screenwriter, filmmaker, producer, singer and singer. He is also a politician in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India
T. Rajendar is married to former actress Usha. They have two sons, Silambarasan and Kuralarasan, and a daughter, Ilakiya. His wife was the producer of some of his films, such as Kadhal Azhivathillai.
Rajendar started in the Kollywood industry making hit movies that included him as an actor, backing singer, dancer and screenwriter. It has gained popularity thanks to its unique style of play. It normally serves as, but not limited to, director, actor, composer, artistic director, production director, playback singer. During the 1980s all his movies were blockbusters running for years and the songs were also well appreciated. He is known for introducing new faces into his films, and many actresses who debuted in his films, including Amala, Nalini, Jyothi, Jeevitha and Mumtaj.
After a few years, Rajendar's films began to decline in popularity because his films became too predictable, tending to follow the same story and oratorical style of repetitive dialogues with little or no meaning. For example, his films always contain a sentimental scene involving the young sister of the hero in distress, coupled with the same rhetoric and gestures
Rajendar recently launched his own web TV channel called "Kural TV" Originally, he wanted to start a 24-hour television channel, but could not because of problems occurring while securing a license. The channel, in addition to broadcasting its films and speeches, tends to echo feelings about the plight of Tamils (especially women) in Sri Lanka.
Rajendar had started talking to "ordinary" people through Skype and discussing the latest policies in recent years. Rajendar also distributes films under his "Simbu Cine Arts" banner. His latest film distribution, in mid-2011, is the film Vaanam of his son Silambarasan which will be distributed in the region of Chennai and Madurai.
Since early 2008, Rajendar has been working slowly on the production of a film titled Oru Thalai Kadhal, a tale based on a village singer, in which he plays the lead role. In 2011, he published a first-look poster for the film and revealed that three Mumbai heroines would be by his side. He provided an update in 2014, that the film was still in production and that it was completed at sixty-five percent. He also revealed that he is working on a script to launch his second son, Kuralarasan, as a lead actor.
